Gay expats make up a large proportion of my clients. Expat life can present challenges for anyone but being a gay expat can mean particular challenges. Dealing with cultural differences, adjustment to climate and the stress of relationship difficulties while living in a foreign country are examples of why people consult me.
If you are living overseas or in another country, you can attend online counselling, coaching or therapy. If your Internet connection is stable enough to use Skype, we can meet over webcam. It is surprisingly comfortable to talk this way and many of my clients tell me they did not realise it would be so convenient to access counselling for gay expats. For those in places where the video connection is not so reliable, we can have an audio session using Skype or you can call me at an agreed time on my London, Sydney or Stockholm landline numbers.
Many of the expats who consult me are living in countries where English is not widely spoken like Japan, China and Russia, or places where homosexuality is outlawed, such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the UAE, Jamaica and Malaysia. I’ve been providing therapy and coaching to gay men and others around the world since 2009. So whether you are in Mexico City or Munich, Seville or Singapore, your details and what we discuss will remain confidential. My experience is that online therapy and counselling offers invaluable support to gay expats, particularly those who are isolated culturally and geographically.
Write to me for more information but please include your city and country so I can provide you the next available times for your location and the fees in the appropriate currency.
